FAQ's

What does "PSC" stand for?

It's shorthand for "Peterson Spouses' Club".  It also describes the military communities we serve:  Peterson, Schriever, and Cheyenne Mountain.

Is this an Officers' or Enlisted Spouses' Club?

It's both.  The PSC is a combined club and we welcome spouses of all ranks.  We're interested in you, not your sponsor's rank.

I'm an Army/Navy/Marine/Coast Guard/Canadian spouse.  Can I join?

Absolutely! Spouses from all military branches are welcome to join. You can also serve on the board or chair a sub-club.

My sponsor works at AFSPC/NORAD-USNORTHCOM/SMDC-ARSTRAT/
13th ASOS at Fort Carson/other tenant organizations. Can I join the PSC?

Of course!  This is a great way to get to know spouses from across the Air Force and other military branches.

What does the PSC do?

We meet monthly for fun socials, usually at a PAFB location.  Cost to attend is $5 - $10 dollars, some are free.  If there is a charge, it's to pay for food and beverages at our meeting location.  We also do great service projects, like Cookies for the Troops in December, Bunko for the Cure in February, and our College Scholarship program in the Spring.  The PSC has sub-clubs that meet monthly or more often:  Scrapbooking and Beyond, Playgroup, Mah Jong, Lunch Bunch, Movie Wednesdays, and more.

How do I join the PSC?

Fill out our membership card, sign it, and mail it to the address below along with your dues.  Full year dues are $30.00 per year, half-year dues       (Jan-Aug) are $15.  Click here to download a membership card.

Mailing address:

      Peterson Spouses' Club

260 Glasgow Ave., Bldg 1013    Colorado Springs, CO 80914

Why do I need to pay dues?

Membership dues keep the club functioning.  Dues pay for operating expenses such as the website, publicity flyers, the membership directory, accountant's fee, office supplies, and costs associated with socials, like door prizes and decorations.

Do you have a separate Charitable organization?

Yes, our Charitable Giving funds are separate from  our Membership (Social) funds.  The Peterson Spouses' Club Charitable Organization is a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt, non-profit organization that gives out charitable grants and awards college scholarships.  Our charitable organization is registered with the Colorado Secretary of State's office.   Our Charitable Giving funds come from the proceeds of our Thrift Shop, located on Peterson AFB, and occasional fundraising projects.

Are you associated with the Peterson Club (Officer/Enlisted Club facility?)

While we often hold events at The Club at Peterson AFB, our membership is separate from their membership.  However, if you are a member of the Officers' or Enlisted Club, you receive a discount on the price of a sit-down meal served at a PSC function. Discounts only applies to meal, not appetizer or dessert socials.  Membership in the Peterson Consolidated Club is not required for membership in the Peterson Spouses' Club.
Why isn't the PSC on Facebook, My Space or Twitter?

We realize that social networking sites are hugely popular.  However, based on guidance that we received, the PSC Board of Governors decided not to use social networking sites for publicity or communications.  We regret any inconvenience this may cause, but security and privacy concerns led to our decision.  Our website, newsletter, and email will continue to be our primary means of communicating with current and potential members.

I joined the PSC, but I'm not receiving any emails from you.  How come?

Emails to the PSC membership are sent from our club email address, pikespeakcsc@yahoo.com.  Please add this address to your Contacts or Safe Senders list.  If you've already done that and you're still not receiving club email, please contact PSC Membership at the address above.

What do you do with the information I give you on the membership card?

Any information you give the PSC on your membership card is only used for purposes for this club.  We do not give out or sell any information about you to anyone.  The PSC will include your information in the club directory, unless you check the box on the membership card indicating that you would not like your information to be included. The directories are given only to members.  Use of member addresses to forward chain e-mail, promote a personal business, cause or political view is strictly prohibited.

Can I use the PSC to sell products or services?

The Standing Rules of the PSC Constitution states, "There shall be no solicitation at membership functions" (under VII. Miscellaneous, Section A).  Many members want to buy or sell products, such as Pampered Chef, Tupperware, etc...  If you will be conducting business with members, please do so at another time or place besides any PSC function.  Also, please respect the privacy of those listed in the PSC directory, and refrain from using it as a database of potential clients.

I have a question about the Peterson Spouses' Club who do I contact?

Please email pikespeakcsc@yahoo.com and one of our board members will get back to you shortly. In case of emergency, please contact Sandy at (719) 380-1356 or (719) 291-5252.
